The Masked City is definitely more focused than The Invisible Library, which was seething with ideas, not all of which actually contributed to the plot line. The Masked City is another fantastic adventure chronicling the exploits of Irene Winters, a secret agent for an interdimensional library.

The alternate worlds come in all forms of low and high tech, with magical beings such as the Fae and their enemies, the dragons infiltrating various worlds to different degrees. I love the whole concept of this series. Irene has no idea where he is and has to save him with the help of Vale of course.
